Laps 4 Lindsey

THANK YOU to all who supported our 2020/2021 event!

We can’t give enough thanks to the students, parents, teachers, staff, sponsors, volunteers and community who have all worked hard over the past few weeks to support Laps 4 Lindsey – The Reading Edition! We raised an amazing $15,431! View the video to see the prize winners! Prizes can be picked up at school on Monday. Congratulations to all students who completed their reading goals! You will all be receiving a treat from the PTO!

Each year, Lindsey PTO holds Laps 4 Lindsey – The Reading Edition – a read-a-thon and fundraiser to benefit Robert C. Lindsey Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Our goal is to raise $18,000 to support the programs and events held for students throughout the year. This is the only donation we will be asking for as the PTO has eliminated dues and classroom party donations this year. By participating in the Laps 4 Lindsey read-a-thon students will experience the benefits of mental stimulation, vocabulary expansion, and stronger analytical thinking skills gained from reading, as well as contribute to the organization.

How it works

RAISE MONEY — Students ask family and friends for donations to support their individual reading effort and their school. We are asking for a flat donation (e.g. not dollars per minutes read). All money is collected up front. This year all donations will be made using Cheddar Up. Cheddar Up is a website that helps us organize information and collect money. You can share the link with friends and family. Cheddar Up will give you instructions on how to pay by credit card, cash, or check. You will need the name of the student you are donating on behalf of when using the website.

If each student collects $40, we will reach our total goal.

All donations are due by October 16th.

READ — Each child will be asked to keep a reading log for reading completed from September 28 to October 16. Reading done during school hours as well as reading done outside of school counts towards your child’s overall goal. Our goal is for each kid to read 300 minutes as part of the read-a-thon. More information about how we will record minutes read will be forthcoming.

Encourage your child to read as much as they can and want! Read in unusual locations (inside, outside, in a blanket fort) and send your pictures to to share on social media!

EVERY STUDENT will receive a Laps 4 Lindsey t-shirt to wear on October 8th, thanks to our amazing corporate sponsors! Even if they do not collect donations, they still get a shirt!

Runner Up Prizes$50 Scholastic Book Fair Voucher! Awarded to the student who raises the most money in each grade

Every student who raises $100 or more will have their name put into a basket and will have a chance to win a West G Tote Bag and Blanket.

Every student who raises $50 or more will have their name put into a separate basket and will have a chance to win a West G Frisbee and Water Bottle.

Goal of $18,000 – Students voted from a list of options for Mrs. Bellan to dress up as. If we reach our goal, Mrs. Bellan will dress up as a Tik Tok influencer post it on social media.

Winners will be announced via a pre-recorded message to be delivered on October 17th. Prizes will be distributed the week of October 19th.

R.C. Lindsey Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a non-profit organization (501c3), therefore all donations are tax deductible.
