Laps for Lindsey - September 23, 2022

Each year, Lindsey PTO holds Laps for Lindsey – a  fundraiser to benefit Robert C. Lindsey Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Our goal is to raise $18,000 to support the programs and events held for students throughout the year. This is the only donation we will be asking for as the PTO has eliminated dues and classroom party donations this year. 

How it works

RAISE MONEY — Students ask family and friends for donations to support their individual walk effort and their school. We are asking for a flat donation (e.g. not dollars per laps). All money is collected up front. PTO has provided a sample letter/email that students can use to share fundraiser information and ask for donations. All donations will be made using Cheddar Up. Cheddar Up is a website that helps us organize information and collect money. You can share the link with family and friends. Cheddar Up will give you instructions on how to pay by cash, check or credit card. You will need the name of the student you are donating on behalf of when using the website. If each student collects $40, we will reach our total goal. All donations are due by September 23.

GET READY – Prior to the walk, our gym teachers are teaching a walk/run unit in gym class to prepare the students for Laps for Lindsey. They will discuss stretching techniques, pacing strategies, and talk about proper walking attire.

WALK – On September 23, the students will participate in Laps for Lindsey. Each grade
level will walk or run as many laps as possible in the allotted amount of time. The schedule
is as follows:

3rd grade – 9:00AM                           4th grade – 9:40AM                           5th grade – 10:20AM

This year we are able to have spectators for the walk-a-thon. The PTO would love your help with course set up and handing out apples and water bottles. A volunteer sign up will also go out via email.

Laps for Lindsey FREE t-shirt

EVERY STUDENT will receive a Laps for Lindsey t-shirt to wear on September 23, thanks to our amazing corporate sponsors! Even if they do not collect donations, they still get a shirt!

Prizes

Grand PrizePrincipal for a Day will be awarded to the student who raises the most money.

$50 Scholastic Book Fair Gift Card will be awarded to the student who raises the most money in each grade.

Every student who raises $100 or more
will have their name put into a basket and will have a chance to win a West Geauga knit hat.

Every student who raises $50 or more will have their name put into a separate basket and will have a chance to win a $10 Dairy Queen gift card.

Goal of $18,000 – If we reach our total goal, PTO will have the Kona Ice Truck visit Lindsey!

Winners will be announced at the
all-school assembly after the event on September 23.
